Elijah is a little unhappy in the background - he disagreed (correctly) that I bribed one of his brothers. I may have taught him that bribery is not an ok parenting technique but attitude training has a long way to go.

Some friends brought cookies by. Sam and dad were the only ones who ate them. The rest of us were sick sick sick. They looked really tasty though. : )

Pictionary

We have been playing pictionary as a family. It is soooo fun. We laugh the whole time. Silas is the best artist and guesser. Matt and I were a team in this game and the KIDS ALMOST BEAT US!

We also played Apples to Apples Junior the other night and Titus won! He is 3. He won fair and square.

Fishing

This is Hawk Springs reservoir. It is about a 10 minute drive from our house. Or a 2 mile walk through the pasture. : ) The boys got fishing poles for Christmas so we decided to try them out. It was a successful trip. I determined it was doable to safely take the kids to the lake. They were able to cast and reel and the little boys played in the snow.

We were successful. We came home with several small fish. However they were dead when we got to the lake. We just collected them not actually caught them. Our crawdad had a nice meal.

The lake was frozen over except by the shore. The boys practiced casting and threw rocks on the ice.




Nana was too dangerous to handle. Plus she is bigger than me. She ventured about 3 feet out on the ice to retrieve Elijah's stuck bobber and fell through. She was tough though and never mentioned being freezing cold from the knees down.

The Coop Project

Samuel and across the street friend Michael got to build a chicken coop for a class project. After completion, we decided that it was insanity to bring extra life forms into the fold, so it sits empty. It's too bad because they did a really good job.
