Sick Sick Sick

Abbey doesn't really feel sick but likes the attention. So she only lays down when she wants something and the rest of the time she is a wild woman running and playing even though she has a fever.

Luke is on his 5th day of high fever. Here he is at low point, but usually has great spirits.
Matt took a day off yesterday to help us. He took barf duty which was great for me! What a great dad.
This is today. 7 fevers.

Elijah is still healthy and enjoying his book.

Silas feels really sick right now and fell asleep on my bed.
This is the first of the sickies. The guest room was the quarantine room until the ones that had it out numbered the caregivers.

First Aid Practice

I'm taking a first aid class and getting practice this weekend. Apparently its an immersion course.

2 - 103 degree fevers
1 - shallow avulsion to the foot (recently learned the difference between avulsions and lacerations)
1 - ingrown toenail causing redness, swelling and pain
1 - barbwire fence to the face leaving a puncture wound
1 - inch long sliver in the thumb
1 - puker
0 - bandaids left

I think that's all the practice we need.

**Update**

Governor Mead

The phone rang this morning right after Matt left for work. Caller ID said State of Wyoming and I assumed it was a coworker/boss of Matt's. Turns out it was the big boss.

"Hello is this Robin Boyd?"

"yes it is."

"This is Governor Mead, sorry its taken so long to get back to you. You had called about Senate File 104."

 Short discussion ensues.

What a great state! Thanks Gov. Mead for the personal touch even if you disagree with me on the issue. : )
This is part of our homeschool group getting a question/answer session with him last year.
